In bleach, 163 episodes out of the 366 episodes are fillers, equating to 45 fillers this this is nearly half the show. The anime does follow almost the whole manga. At least then the filler wouldn't stop you from watching the rest for quite awhile as it's happened with Bleach & Naruto with me. The bleach anime ended in 2012 and has 366 episodes. Personally if i started watching from the beginning again i'd just skip all the filler episodes and go back and try the big filler arcs afterwards.

Then proceeded to make 1-2 movies with battles to wrap. Most people consider this to be one of the worst filler arcs in Bleach. They should have ended it after the fight with Captain K, and the real bad guys showed up. After the incredible Soul Society arc, Bleach embarked upon its first set of major fillers in the form of the Bount arc. As said above the Bounts arc is probably the best filler arc, i quite liked the new Captain Shusuke Amagai arc as it spent more time in the soul society instead of just following Ichigo all the time.
